Professional conduct

Global MICE members will conduct all activities professionally and with integrity. We take great care to be completely objective in our judgement and any recommendations that we give, so that issues are never influenced by anything other than the best and proper interests of our clients. In addition we treat fellow Global MICE supplier, media and agent members with the same level of respect, professionalism and integrity.

Ethics

We always conduct our own services professionally, honestly and honorably. We expect our clients, suppliers and fellow agents to do the same. Global MICE will not indulge any proven reports of contrary behavior or unprofessionalism, including any form of harassment, be it based on gender, sexual orientation, race, creed, color, age or personal disability.

Equality and non-discrimination

Discrimination against others on the grounds of race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental disability, marital status, family responsabilities, pregnancy, religion, political opinion, national extraction or social origin or any other ground is illegal. We are never influenced in our decisions, actions or recommendations by personal gain or issues of gender, sexual orientation, race, creed, color, age or personal disability. Any such incidents must be reported to the General Manager for appropriate action.

Duty of care

The actions and advice of Global MICE agents will always conform to relevant law, and we believe that all business, including client recommendations and consultancy, should avoid causing any adverse effect on the human rights of people and organizations we deal with, the local and wider environments, and the well-being of society at large.

Confidentiality

We are committed to maintaining the highest degree of integrity in all our dealings with potential, current and past clients, both in terms of normal commercial confidentiality, and the protection of all personal information received in the course of providing the business services concerned. We extend the same standards to all our customers, suppliers and associates.

Conflict of interest

As Global MICE agents, we agree in good faith not to make intentional contact with or provide any service to any known client or employee from a fellow agency. In addition, unless directly requested by the client, we will avoid any dealings with competitors’ clients even after the cessation of services.

Contracts

The quality of our service and the value of our support provide the only true reflection of our professionalism. We always do our best to meet our clients’ contractual requirements, particularly when it comes to problem solving and support in dealing with suppliers and situations beyond our personal control.

Fees

Any client service fees we charge as Global MICE agents are always competitive for the high-quality, tailored and specialized services we offer. Any discounts or reductions we offer will not be attempts to undercut our fellow agency members for equivalent levels of service. Nor will they engender a reduction in the level of service delivered to clients. Our goal is always to try to propose solutions that accommodate our clients’ available budgets and requirements. Wherever possible we disclose fees and the basis of client charges clearly and in advance, so that we and our clients can plan reliably for what lies ahead, how it is to be achieved and why it is financially justified.

Intellectual property and moral rights

All content, articles, videos, training programs and images appearing on the Global MICE website are owned by the creator, while irrevocable rights stay with the Global MICE unless otherwise agreed to. Global MICE resources will not be shared with other entities without permission. In addition, we respect the moral and intellectual copyright vested in our clients’ intellectual property.

Quality assurance

As Global MICE agents, we maintain the quality of what we do through constant ongoing review with our clients of all aims, activities, outcomes and the cost-effectiveness of every activity. We encourage regular review meetings and provide regular progress reports. We strive to always learn and improve in order to better serve our clients.

Non-Compliance

The following occurrences may result in disciplinary action, including immediate dismissal and, where applicable, criminal prosecution:

  • Working for a competitor or releasing confidential information;
  • Theft, fraud, the taking of bribes or other dishonest conduct;
  • Falsification of any employment application or of other Global MICE records;
  • Acts or threats of violence in connection to Global MICE;
  • Intentional breaches of law;
  • Inability to perform work duties due to the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs;
  • Using Global MICE internet services to store or distribute material that is obscene, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, harassing or racist;
  • Conducting other business during working hours or on Global MICE premises;
  • Insubordination or refusal to perform work in the manner described by a superior without proper and reasonable justification.
